Hey there! I am Vince, your local Tech Smith. I grew up here in the Queen City and call The Ozarks, my stomping ground! I live right on the south-side of Springfield and when I moved to my neighnorhood, I found a sense of pride in my community and decided I would start a business to contribute and improve my corner of it!
I have been fascinated by electronics and clever contraptions since I was a child. My career path has lead me many different ways but always mechanically and/or technologically involved. I also love speaking with customers and clients to try to find their problem so that I can fix it, like a puzzle. I couldn't quite find this "job" anywhere. Then one day, while at my day-job, I realized how much I was "helping" with areas that did not partain to my "job description." Later that week, I went to visit my parents with my family. While I was BBQ'ing some pork chops, my Mother asked me to fix her computer. When I finished fixing the computer she asked me to hang a decoration on the wall. After that, she asked for some help with her car! That's when I joking told her I would have to start charging her. Boom, Queen City Tech Smith was born - but I still don't charge my Mama. That would be cruel.
I decided I wanted to stop working for someone else and do something that truly mattered to me: helping a neighbor or friend in need. I know electronics. I know basic home up-keep and maintenance. I was trained as a mechanic and know what it takes to get a laborous, detail-oriented job done.
When I first thought of this business, my Wife told me to call it "Juanita's guy" - referring to my childhood bestfriend's Grandma. She would pay me way to much money to do simple things like run her anti-virus, unbox and set up a TV, or help her with some settings for her computer. This is the type of service I offer. That helpful neighbor, the favorite grandson, the dedicated nephew. Not a salesman who just wants to make a dollar off you every time your TV flickers.
Everyone's tech knowledge is different but that shouldn't exclude anyone from utilizing a device that is designed to make some portion of our human existence, either, easier or more entertaining. If you have equipment that is not doing one of those 2 things, I want to help you.
I can help simplify tech without using the industry's jargon. I can help explain how to use all house-hold tech and with patience.
